Sri. S. Kariappa College of Agriculture was established on 29th November, 2024. It was sanctioned by the Government of Karnataka through the dedicated efforts and persistent persuasion of the present President.
Sri. H. K. Srikanta, with the strong support of Sri. D. K. Shivakumar, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, and Member of the Legislative Assembly from Kanakapura constituency, has initiated the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree programme. This programme is currently being conducted at the RES Campus, Kanakapura, on a temporary basis. The new Agricultural College, which is under construction at Gandhi Farm near Harohalli, spans approximately 70 acres of farmland. The first batch of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students, who were admitted through KCET, are currently studying in the 1st year, 2nd semester of the academic year 2024–25. The college is affiliated with the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru. The academic procedures of the affiliated university are strictly followed here as well. For the academic year 2025–26, the university has sanctioned 120 seats, of which 48 seats are available under the management quota, and the remaining 72 seats are allocated through KCET. The campus is equipped with facilities such as smart classrooms, well-established laboratories, a library, and fields for conducting practical classes. Additionally, a well-established girls’ hostel is available, and a separate boys’ hostel is under development. Apart from these, BCM hostels for both boys and girls are available in Kanakapura itself.
